The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Murdoch can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: As we prepare to say goodbye, I can't help but think of all the memories we shared. From the endless card games we played to the quiet moments we shared and the long drives to no particular destination at all. Must of my favorite memories involve the cows and the long summer days filled with mischief. And yes I do remember that situation with the baby swing. I completely deserved the nickname DW after that. (deep sigh) I'm still not convinced that you wouldn't have hung us by our big toes if we didn't stop causing trouble. It was always a riot to watch you try to wake up Uncle Jim. The guy could sleep through anything. I truly feared for your life when you would make French toast and a mess in Grandma's kitchen. But Johnny and Jane had nothing compared to you and Grandma.
And as the tears flow freely, I find myself thinking of Katie's favorite song. "I'm a lonely Petunia." For a man who lived way past the age he imagined he would die at, it still feels like there wasn't enough time.
My all time favorite memory is when we arrived at your home and the second Andrew spotted you he ran into your waiting arms. The two of you looked as happy as Christmas morning.
From ONE come all of this (50 people and counting). There has never been a man more loved then you.

Condolence: My heart goes out to all my Murdoch cousins and Aunt Martha. Uncle Dave was a wonderful, caring, kind, Christian man. He was loved much and loved others especially his family. Prayers of peace and my love to you all.

Condolence: To the Murdoch family,

I'm sure none of you remember me as I haven't seen any of you in approx. 35 years, probably since I sang at Babe's wedding when I was 13 years old at Riverside Pres. Church. Anyway, I've thought about you guys many many times as I have so many fond memories, such as Camp Duffield, Volleyball at the Christian Center, fish dinners in the Fellowship Hall, etc... There's one memory that has stuck in my mind all these years and that is Mr. Murdoch teaching us Bible Study in the Library at RUPC, and he literally had us yelling as loud as we can, over & over again - John 1:1, which is "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God" I still remember that verse only because of how fun he made Bible Study!!! I'm truly sorry for your loss.
